About Us
Founded in 1980, Smithway is a fabricator of environmentally-controlled chick transport systems based in Fairview, North Carolina. Day-old chicks must travel from hatchery to farm the same day they hatch, and Smithway's air-conditioned trailers and truck bodies keep them safe and healthy along the way — hauling chicks in style since 1980.
What We Do
Smithway fabricates self-contained chick trailers, insulated truck bodies, curtain trailers, and compact mini-haulers for customers across the U.S. and internationally. Its "Chicks on Wheels" pallet system streamlines loading and unloading from hatchery to destination, and its proprietary TouchView monitoring system provides real-time climate control, data logging, alerts, and GPS tracking.
